RELEASE ON THE
KOOL KAT MUSIK LABEL!! Were thrilled to welcome Nick Pipitone back
to the Kool Kat family of artists with his first release in seven years! His debut, Pipitones 2003 Music For
Minivans (an underrated classic in our opinion copies are still available!)
was one of Kool Kats early label releases. Since then, Nick has released an EP under his
own name and as two as one half of the duo The Rip Off Artists in 2008 and 2013. Still in great voice (hints of Glenn Tilbrook
are still present), his "Thiensville" record,
originally a download-only release (written, produced, engineered, played,
sang, concocted, created, devised, invented, and ridiculously overthought by
Nick), is an epic saga based on the partially and possibly sort of true and not
so true stories of one middle aged man's life in a quaint village in
southeastern Wisconsin. There are some
nice, ringing guitars here folks! Hes
got a knack for good
old fashioned pop songs sporting catchy melodies and deep hooks. PurePopRadio.com Singer,
songwriter, guitarist and power pop purveyor Nick Pipitone has been on the
scene for years. But we'll forgive you if you don't know his name because even
though he's been making some of the catchiest rock and roll in town, he's been
doing it relatively quietly. Hes been
hailed it for his smart, melodic pop that evokes the best of Squeeze and Elvis
Costello & the Attractions. OnMilwaukee.com The CD
release contains the exclusive bonus track Rummage On Madero, not found on
the digital release. GREAT!!
