An
extremely kool co-release from the fine folks at Big Stir Records and Futureman
Records that sees artists from both labels and other familiar names paying
tribute to one of power pop’s all-time great bands that sneaks its way into the
end of 2020 (fitting, heh?)! Artists
participating are (where songs are mentioned denotes a highlight of the
release) Plasticsoul (2 versions of “Nuclear
Boy”), Chris Church (“Remember The Lightning”), Ransom and The Subset (“Fast
Car”), The Hangabouts, The Toms (“Out Of This Time”), The Armoires, Popdudes (“She’s
An Obsession”), The Brothers Steve (“Beat
City”), Coke Belda (“Jet Lag”), Librarians With Hickeys (“Action Now”), The
Slapbacks, Ballzy Tomorrow, Irene Pena, Joe and Tracy Sullivan, and Pop Co-Op (“Yellow
Pills”)!! “I remember seeing 20/20 at
the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, CA around 1978, when they found out they
got signed. They were my favorite live local SoCal band, and I saw them several
times. And as great as their debut album was, they were so much better live.
Glad to see they’ve stayed in the hearts of so many others, and y’all had the
idea to pay tribute in ... 2020. Nice job!” – Chris Staros And, in the true spirit of giving, the release benefits
MusicCares! As we like to say here at
KK, “it’s great music for a great cause”!
GREAT!!
