2020
sees Kyle Vincent release
his 20th album, “Whatever It Takes”, a stunning new album of original,
captivating contemporary pop songs, drenched in soulful melodies, rich orchestration,
heartfelt lyrics, and sparkling vocals, reminiscent of the great radio songs of
the 60’s and 70’s, yet sounding refreshingly fresh.
For
a few years Kyle was the lead singer in a reformed Bay City Rollers, and
even did a tour of duty fronting 70’s hit- makers, Bo Donaldson &
The Heywoods. Of these retro stints
Vincent remarked “I’m pretty much the go-to guy when there’s some wayward 70’s
band in need of a singer. I’ve been a Roller and a Heywood. I’m waiting for the O’Jays to call!” ”To his credit, he has never shied away from wearing his influences –
and his heart – on his musical sleeve, and “Whatever It Takes” will not only
satiate his current legion of worldwide fans, but could certainly hook a new
audience longing for his style of super melodic, crystal-clearly produced pop
songs. For “Whatever It Takes”, he reached
out to some legendary musicians, including Louie
Shelton, one of the top session guitarists of all-time, whose credits to pop
music history include #1 singles such as "I Want You Back",
"Let's Get It On", "Last Train To Clarksville", "I'll
Be There", "Hello", "Lowdown", "Saving All My
Love For You", and countless more.
He also called upon 70’s hit-makers the Raspberries to lend their talents, joining
guitarist Wally Bryson and drummer
Jim Bonfanti in the
studio to create some memorable magic. Tommy Dunbar of the Rubinoos lends his spectacular guitar chops to
most songs, and longtime collaborator Parthenon
Huxley co-wrote a classic Vincent/Huxley power pop gem, "Hard To Be
Happy". “The crown prince of soft
pop!” – Goldmine Magazine "He
blends a voice like a cool smoker into Top 20-quality mind control drugs we
call hip songs!" – Music
Dish "The greatest voice you've never
heard" – A fan in New Jersey GREAT!!
